Can I get anything good at Home Depot?

Hey all, I work at The Home Depot and I was wondering if there is anything good there to help prepare for shtf or just general hard times.

There's literally 40,000 items there so there must be something :D

I have never seen so much trash in one place in all my life, yes there are some decent items ,but mostly inferior products at inflated prices. It's the same ole story , they get away with it cuz it's one stop shopping , everthing under one roof. I say what I said because I built my house using lots of their products on the finish end of things, Doors and such , the doors have proven in a short time to be crap.
Sorry bout the rant.

In a SHTF scenario I doubt if you can have enough " stuff " if your already living in a rural setting...on the other hand it might be more purposeful to have a select few items if your going to bug out.

To answer your question...duct tape.
Great question , I'm sure you'll get alot of good responce.

There is plenty of good stuff at Home Despot or Not-So-Low's. Lots of trash too.

True, most of it is way overpriced, but their basic hardware store stuff is decent enough quality: shovel, hammer, nails, fence posts, cinder blocks, concrete mix, lumber, etc.

Stay away from the fancy lighting and plumbing fixtures, appliances, high-priced power tools, floor coverings, etc.

N95 masks and they have some masks with the twist-on filters. Tons of great flashlights, generators, upright shelving amd containers for preps, i could definitely find ways to spend your paycheck at HD. batteries and rechargers

I think Home Depot is likely to be a target in any emergency, whether by panicky citizenry, armed privateers, or an acronymic govt agency, because of the building and growing supplies.

I would like to bump and add to this...

Back in the 1800s and prior it was VERY common practice to burn down old structures simple to recover the NAILS. If you think of it, everything you building will need nails or screws. Perhaps it would be worth having a 100lbs+ of nails properly stored for future use and the same with good wood screws as well as large galvanized lag bolts.

My Home Depot equivalent, has turned into a complete rip-off on most items. They are going to suffer like every other retailer.

I have found a cheap source of lead, which is always useful stuff (if handled safely), so I'm wiping that out as fast as I can before they catch on and re-price it.
